Dilburnu Nature Park is on Büyükada, declared a nature park on 11 July 2011 and covering 6.88 hectares. It lies on an important bird migration route.
The vegetation is made up of stone pine and Calabrian pine, blackthorn, nettle tree, Judas tree, hairy rockrose, holly, ivy and Spanish broom. Among the mammals and birds are squirrel, fox, hedgehog, hare, wild boar, mole, magpie, sparrow and crow.
The park has day-use recreation areas, picnic grounds, children's playgrounds, a country restaurant and viewing points. Terraces look out over the sea, and the pine-covered ground running about five hundred metres out towards the point holds places suitable for picnics. There is a one-kilometre track for walking and cycling.
Getting there
Take one of the Adalar–Yalova ferries leaving at set times from Sirkeci, Kabataş, Kadıköy, Bostancı and Kartal to Büyükada; from there the park can be reached on foot, or by hiring a bicycle or a motorcycle.
