The building was put up for Abdülhamid II between 1906 and 1909, and from 1919 to 1979 it served as the Çine recruitment office. That is the reason it became this particular museum: the office was the assembly point for people coming from Muğla to Çine to join the fighting in Aydin before the War of Independence, and the plans for clearing the southern front of the Greek occupation were made in it.
Çine municipality began restoring the building on 27 June 2006 and finished on 6 June 2008. Inside stand figures of Yörük Ali Efe and Colonel Şefik Aker.
Alongside the material on the militia forces of the war, the museum also shows ethnographic and archaeological objects.
