The grave is not a separate building: Celaleddin Çelebi lies in the tomb known as the Erguniye, within the Kütahya Mevlevi lodge, about 900 metres from the city centre.
He was born in Kütahya, a Mevlevi sheikh and a poet, son of Burhaneddin İlyas Çelebi and a descendant of Rumi in the fourth generation. He gave up the Germiyan throne to become a Mevlevi, and served first Emir-i Alem and then Emir Vacid. His works include the Kelime-i Taybib, the treatise İsaret'ül-Besaret on the states of the sheikh and the spiritual guide, and the mesnevi called Gençname.
