Çamlıca Nature Park lies in the central district of Kütahya and covers 34.61 hectares. Of that, 21.15 per cent is set aside as a sustainable-use zone and the remaining 78.85 per cent as a controlled-use zone. The climate here is that of the Marmara region.
Black pines between eighty and a hundred years old cover much of the area. Where the slope is steepest, young black pine together with rockrose has taken over the ground. The places where people picnic are the clearings that form the lower layer beneath the black pine cover.
The park is reached from the city centre by public bus. The busiest part is the ground around the kiosk and country restaurant beside the governor's residence. It is used for picnicking on day visits, and offers nature walks and camping; the forest lodges here are among the first places that come to mind when bungalow accommodation in Kütahya is mentioned, and take visitors by the day or the week.
