Erzurum is cold enough for this to work: the university's Ata Buz museum is built around sculpture and objects made of ice, and the provincial directorate calls it the first and only ice museum in Türkiye.
What is shown is ice worked as a material — figures and pieces in which, as the directorate puts it, traditional and modern approaches are mixed.
It stands on the Atatürk University campus behind the Faculty of Fine Arts, in Yakutiye. On weekdays it opens 09:00 to 12:00 and again 13:30 to 16:30; at weekends, 12:00 to 16:00.
