The mosque stands on the Kalehöyük mound in the centre of Kırşehir, and because it sits on a mound it has been brought down and renewed at different periods. It is dated to the Seljuk period.
What draws the eye is the portal: the entrance is among the richest examples of Seljuk stone carving. It is on Yeni 1. Çarsi Sokak in the Kusdilli quarter.
