The Abdülgaffar Mosque at Gelendost, in Isparta province, is a good example of late Ottoman architecture and carries an inscription dated 1878. Its cylindrical minaret stands at the northwest on a square platform, with a single balcony whose underside is decorated with muqarnas.
Inside, the small central dome is carried in baldachin fashion on four columns. The painted decoration is what to look at: the declaration of faith written on a flag, the articles of belief and their commentary set out in the form of a boat, inscriptions written in the chequered Kufic manner, and the Sura Yasin running round the springing of the dome.
