Yedideğirmenler Nature Park spreads across the boundaries of the Yeniköy, Akkaya and Avluca villages in Espiye district of Giresun province. It was declared on 9 May 2013 and covers 103 hectares. The name means seven mills, and seven of them stand inside the park and on its edge; they have been used by the people of those three villages since the villages were founded, have been repaired from time to time, and six of the seven are still working.
There is a cave here too, decorated with stalactites, stalagmites and similar formations, but it is not open to ordinary visitors: the entrance is narrow and the passage carries water, so the directorate says it can only be entered after August and only by professionals. Rock, groundwater, waterfall and permanent stream ecosystems make up the rest of the park.
Alder dominates the woodland, with hornbeam and spruce in places and, in some parts, hop hornbeam, ash, maple, hazel, poplar and box. The understorey changes with aspect: purple rhododendron on the shaded sides, bearberry, firethorn and spindle on the sunny ones. Brown bear, roe deer, hare, wolf, fox, badger, weasel, stone and pine marten, stoat and jackal are among the mammals. Raven, falcon, buzzard, golden eagle, harrier, eagle owl, owl and kite are the raptors; bittern, little egret, grey heron and ducks are seen along the streams. Trout dominate the water alongside a dark-bodied fish the directorate names only in Turkish, with carp and barbel also present.
Facilities are modest and aimed at day visitors: a car park, a country restaurant, a prayer room with toilet, a further toilet block, two day-use areas, an information unit, a tour route, a local produce stall, nine roofed picnic tables, four arbours, a children's play area and rain shelters. The directorate describes the users as people from Giresun and the surrounding districts and villages, coming mainly in summer for the day and for photography. Capacity is 250 visitors and 15 vehicles, with hours of 08:00 to 18:00. The park is 28 kilometres from Espiye and 62 from Giresun, on asphalt road.
