VakıfBank keeps a museum of its own history at its headquarters campus in Ümraniye, built around the equipment and paperwork of banking from the bank's founding in 1954 up to the early 2000s, when the technologies behind present-day banking were taking shape. Alongside the machines that were in use for decades are documents and objects gathered from the personal collections of staff and pensioners.
The bank presents the museum as covering more than finance — the marks it left in education, sport, culture and the arts — and expects the collection to grow into a reference for how banking in Turkey developed. It is open on weekdays outside public holidays, and group visits need a booking.
