The Teos terebinth was not protected for being old or large — it is neither. At 50 to 55 years, four metres tall, 0.50 metres across and 1.55 metres in girth, it is the smallest and youngest tree in the directorate's monument register. What earned it the status, in the directorate's words, is the distinctive form of its root and trunk and the way it belongs to the historic area it stands in. The page says nothing further about that area.
The 1.5 decares around it in Seferihisar district of İzmir were declared a natural monument in 1994; the area record dates that to 1 January, which suggests only the year is known.
Capacity is one visitor and one vehicle, with hours of 07:00 to 21:00.
