The Söğüt plane was declared a natural monument on 21 February 1995, the same day as the two monument trees at Bayır — but it stands in a different village, at the Kahveyanı locality in the Söğüt quarter of Marmaris, not in the Bayır courtyard.
The directorate gives its age as determined at around 500 years, rather than estimated. It is 32 metres tall and three metres in trunk diameter, which makes it thicker than the Bayır plane though far younger: that tree is put at around 1,900 years and 2.80 metres. No girth is given here, and the protected ground is 0.25 hectares.
Stated capacity is 20 visitors, with hours of 08:00 to 21:00.
The same public transport lines that serve Bayır, 10-13 and 10-5 from Marmaris bus station, also reach Söğüt.
