The Soğanlı Botanical Park in Bursa adjoins the city zoo and covers 400 donums. It is open to botanical research and scientific work and has been a first-degree conservation area since it was founded in 1998.
It is laid out in sections — a Japanese garden, a French garden, an English garden, a rose garden, a rock garden, a garden of scented plants, a garden of shaped plants — and holds 150 species of tree, 27 kinds of rose, 76 species of shrub and 20 species of ground cover. There is also a section modelled on the Bursa mansions of the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries, which serves as a hotel and restaurant, along with running and walking paths, sports grounds, cycle tracks, children's playgrounds, a model car track, exercise equipment and an artificial lake. Buses from the city centre to the Soğanlı district serve the park.
