The tomb stands on Feshane Caddesi with cemeteries on both sides: the tombs of Mehmed Vusuli Efendi and Hubbi Hatun to its right, the Zal Mahmud Paşa medrese and mosque to its left.
It is square in plan, built very regularly in three courses of brick to one of cut stone, with two tiers of windows and a wooden roof; it was restored in 1957. A verse is carved over the marble-framed arched door, and a grilled prayer window opens onto the street. Inside there is a single grave.
Who lies in it has been argued over. A later inscription names Karabaş Ahmed Efendi; the seventeenth-century Hadîka places Pir Ahmed Edirnevi here and links him to one chain of the Bayramiye order, while the compiler of the source says his own research points to another. The date of death given is 1592.
