According to the marble inscription over its entrance, the mosque of Pehlivanköy was built in 1901–02 for Sultan Abdülhamid II in Pehlivanköy, formerly called Pavli, in Kırklareli. It shows the same features as the mosques of Çayırdere and Kuştepe villages, built by the imperial estates administration between 1900 and 1907 in the typology of the mosque-with-school.
The building is rectangular, roofed with a hipped tile roof, with a minaret attached to it on the south-west front. The original minaret has not survived; the present one was rebuilt in reinforced concrete in 1967. Entry is from the north-west front, and the upper floor, used today as the imam's room, is reached by the stairs beside the minaret. The prayer hall has tall pointed-arched windows and the other parts segmental ones, with the keystones of the window arches projecting.
Little inside is original. The pulpit and the prayer niche are not, and the women's gallery and the porch have been rebuilt in reinforced concrete; the door and window frames have been renewed in aluminium and PVC. The mosque is in use today.
