The mosque was built in 1467 and is still in use for worship. It is four walls of rubble stone, with a wooden porch for latecomers and a tiled roof.
Its minaret had fallen, and the part above the balcony was later rebuilt in wood. Over the inner door there is a two-line building inscription carved into stone. The mosque is beside the İstanbul-Edirne road in the centre of Babaeski, behind the historic fountain and opposite the municipality.
