This building inside the walled area of Karadeniz Ereğli was put up by the Byzantines as the church of Hagia Sophia, the Holy Wisdom, and after it was turned into a mosque it came to be called Orhan Gazi, or the Middle Mosque.
It is in the Orhanlar quarter in the centre of Karadeniz Ereğli, five minutes' walk from the harbour and ten from the bus station. The source says nothing further about the building itself.
