The park was registered as a B-type picnic ground in 1986 and declared a nature park on 11 July 2011; a decision of October 2017 revised its boundary to 27.28 hectares.

It stands on the Zonguldak-Ankara road, which here is two-lane and surfaced. It is open 08:00 to 17:00, with capacity for 250 visitors and 48 vehicles.
