Kocakoru Forest Nature Park lies in the Taraşçı quarter of Seydişehir district in Konya province, on the north-facing skirts of the Taurus mountains, and it was declared on 7 August 1998 for its landscape, its recreational possibilities and the richness of its flora. It covers 330.79 hectares.
The vegetation is what is called steppe forest, running from the mountain skirts inland as far as the climate allows. Anatolian black pine and Cilician fir, together with some oaks and junipers, are the most defining species of the ecosystem.
The rocky ground and the cover between them let large mammals survive here: brown bear, lynx, wolf, wild goat and wild boar are all still present, which is what the directorate means when it says the park hosts a great many mammals. Golden eagle, goshawk and sparrowhawk are observed and breed in the area. Along with mountain chiffchaff, black stork, tits and nuthatches, the directorate counts 38 bird species living in the park, and 21 amphibian and reptile species including lizards and frogs.
The page describes the park's potential for walking and day use, and says the topography opens viewpoints from which the landscape can be read from different angles, with panoramic views to the east. It does not list a single facility. Capacity is 300 visitors and 50 vehicles, and the gates are recorded as open from 00:00 to 23:59. The park is reached through Seydişehir.
