The Kapuzbaşı waterfalls lie within the bounds of the village of Kapuzbaşı in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri. They are spring falls, and what makes them unusual is that the water drops in the same form as it comes out of the ground. The source calls one of them the highest waterfall in Türkiye and the second highest in the world.
The falls sit in a deep valley within the Aladağlar, the highest part of the Taurus range and a section of the Central Taurus. These mountains divide Central Anatolia from the Mediterranean region and the Develi plain from the Çukurova, and the Aladağlar National Park lies where the borders of Kayseri, Niğde and Adana meet.
The stream that comes down the Aksu valley to the village of Ulupınar and on to Kapuzbaşı joins the water of the falls, becomes a river, and a little further on meets the Zamantı. The Zamantı is the largest branch of the Seyhan and the Göksu the second; the two meet south of Kapuzbaşı, within the province of Adana, to form the Seyhan. Both rise in the Pınarbaşı district of Kayseri.
West of Kapuzbaşı, the Hacer forests cover eighteen thousand hectares and lie within the Aladağlar National Park. The woods on the arms of Demirkazık mountain that run south and east are under snow the year round between six hundred and two thousand metres, along the line of the Zamantı.
Eighty kilometres from Yahyalı is the area known as Yedi Göller, the seven lakes, where seven lakes large and small lie at 3,150 metres, fed by snow and glacier water; the largest is Direk Gölü and their depth is not known. Soğukpınar, about ten kilometres east of the lakes, stands at 1,700 metres with some 687 hectares of woodland, and it is eighteen kilometres from there to the falls.
The falls are on Ensenin hill, north of the Büyükçakır quarter of Yahyalı, sixty kilometres from the town. Two roads lead there: one by way of Dikme, Çamlıca and Ulupınar, sixty-five kilometres in all, and one by way of Dikme, Delialiuşağı, Yeşilköy and Balcıçakırı, fifty-five kilometres. Yahyalı and the Aladağ district of Adana are each about fifty-five kilometres away, and Kayseri 145.
