İnegöl has made furniture for centuries, and this museum exists to say so in order. The municipal council decided to build it in February 2013, with backing from the regional development agency BEBKA; the foundation was laid that November and the museum opened on 14 December 2014. The municipality calls it the first of its kind in Türkiye and one of the few anywhere.
It was built quickly — six months — and partly out of what the town itself gave: residents donated material and objects to the collection.
Three floors, arranged chronologically. The ground floor covers İnegöl's timber industry up to the Republic and the trades of that period, including the ones still practised. The floor above takes the story from the Republic onward and follows the rise of furniture-making in the town. The third floor is not a display at all but a 210-seat conference hall used for the district's cultural programme.
The museum is at Yenice Mahallesi, Demircizade Sokak 11-12. It is closed on Mondays; Tuesday to Saturday it opens 09:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday from 10:00.
