The tomb stands inside the Yeni Camii complex at Eminönü, and it is not one building but three: the tomb of Hatice Turhan Valide Sultan together with the Havatin and Cedid Havatin tombs beside it.
The group is treated as an unusual case in Ottoman tomb architecture, and its motifs, inlay and proportions are what the restorers worked to keep. The restoration ran for six years and was carried out by the provincial administration; the tombs reopened to visitors when it was finished.
