Only part of one iwan of this palace is still standing. It sits inside the castle at Hasankeyf, on a slope that commands both the ground around it and the town below.
Hasankeyf had its golden age between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries, when it served as capital first to the Artuqids and then to the Ayyubids, and the palaces where the sultan lived and governed stood inside the castle. This was one of them; some sources place its building in the Ayyubid period. The source says nothing about how the site can be visited now.
