According to the inscription over its door, this mosque was built in 1710 by Seyyid Muhammed. Its dome had fallen and was rebuilt by the General Directorate of Foundations.
It is a square prayer hall under a single dome, built of regular cut stone, with only the north front given movement by a portal. There is no decoration inside, and the mihrab is a semicircular niche. The mosque stands inside Hamurkesen village in the Gürpinar district of Van, on the east side of the castle.
