Hacıosman forest is a flood-plain forest, and the source calls it a rare and endangered alluvial forest ecosystem of European importance. What sets it apart from other flood-plain forests is the regionally endemic Caucasian wingnut that grows in it; beech, sessile and pedunculate oak, hornbeam, walnut and nettle grow there as well.
It was registered in 1987 and covers 127.77 hectares at Çınarlık in the Çarsamba district of Samsun, 23.5 kilometres from the centre of Samsun. Public transport reaches it; by car, take the Ordu road from Samsun, turn left at the 20th kilometre towards the Aksa farm enterprises and follow 3.5 kilometres of gravel road. It is open 09:00 to 19:00, with capacity for 250 visitors and 100 vehicles.
