Demirciönü covers 370 hectares in the Akçakoca district of Düzce, taking in forest compartments 16 to 22, and was registered on 12 April 1994.
Its boundary was revised in June 2019 for two practical reasons the source states: to resolve problems arising from private property inside it, and to redraw the limits more clearly along natural and man-made lines. The area came out of that revision at the same 370 hectares. It lies at the tenth kilometre of the Akçakoca-Ereğli road, on the boundary between Düzce and Zonguldak.
