Cin Ali is the drawn character of the storybooks Rasim Kaygusuz prepared to teach children to read easily and to make them love reading; the drawings were the work of Selçuk Seğmen. The books began to appear in 1968 and were quickly known and much loved. In its idea, its character and its spirit, Cin Ali left a mark on the history of education in Türkiye and on the feelings of those who grew up with it.
Visitors to the museum meet the story of Cin Ali and of his creator at every turn. One section holds a schoolroom with wooden desks and other things of that time; another shows the tools and materials of learning through play, along with the Cin Ali films, the Ankara of the period, objects connected with the character, and a good deal more.
The museum is at Bülten Sokak No 32/7-8, Kavaklıdere, Ankara.
