Getting to this lake is a walk of about five to six hours, following the valley on the left from the Yukarı Kavron plateau, and because it takes so long the provincial directorate advises carrying enough food for a day.
It is the largest of the chain of lakes there, with the Kaçkar massif directly behind it, and endemic plants grow around it. For good photographs you may need to walk on and climb a little towards the ridges above the lake.
