Bilecik's Living City Museum was built by the town's municipality with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Development, the Bursa-Eskişehir-Bilecik development agency and Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, and it opened in March 2017. The building was designed in an Ottoman style meant to suit the character of the town, which played a part in the founding of both the Ottoman state and the Republic.
Inside, the museum covers two stories: Bilecik in the Ottoman period, and the social and cultural life, customs and traditions of roughly the last hundred years.
