Beykoz Göknarlık Nature Conservation Area is closed to visitors, and the directorate states it in one line. Its page nevertheless lists opening hours of 09:00 to 20:00. The area covers 46 hectares at the Validesuyu locality in Tokatköy, Beykoz district of İstanbul, and was declared on 2 December 1987.
What it protects is, in the directorate's words, the only natural fir stand in İstanbul and its surroundings — a rare ecosystem, and one it describes as under threat. The threats are named rather than implied: clearance and settlement encroaching on the site, along with hunting, grazing and insect pests.
Fir grows there with sweet chestnut, lime, hornbeam, hazel and strawberry tree. Hare, squirrel, mole, reptiles and birds are the animals recorded. The page does not say which species of fir is involved.
