The Balıklı and Güneşli Waterfalls Nature Park was declared in June 2017 and covers 173 hectares within the boundaries of Güneşli and Balıklı villages in the Hopa district of Artvin. The waterfalls are its most important feature and what draws visitors, and the Güneşli waterfall together with the Güneşli stream is the park's principal hydrological asset.
The Directorate describes the area as undisturbed and entirely natural, and states that there is no activity inside the park directed at human use. There are no roads within it either, only footpaths.
The plants observed are Pontic rhododendron, alder, hazel and beech; the animals, wolf, hare, bear and badger. The surrounding country lives mainly from tea and hazelnut farming, and ecotourism is regarded by the Directorate as a field worth investment rather than one already established.
To reach the falls, drive to Güneşli or Balıklı village and walk in on the path inside the park. There is a second approach on foot from the Topaloğlu plateau to the south.
