Alleben-Yamaçtepe Nature Park is a city park in all but name: it lies six kilometres west of central Gaziantep, at the Yamaçtepe locality in Şahinbey district, and covers 282 hectares. The declaration date appears twice on its page and not identically, as 22 April 2016 in the area record and 22 June 2016 in the text. The directorate says the park takes its name from a village nearby, without naming the village.
Red pine forest is what the area is protected for. The wildlife list is short and urban in character: sparrow, crow, hare, fox and mice, with buzzard and falcon appearing occasionally among the raptors.
There is an entrance control point, toilets, a prayer room, a water tank, picnic units, dishwashing areas and play equipment, plus a nature education centre made up of seven country houses with a capacity of 112 people, a dining hall and an administrative building. Children, young people and adults are hosted there on various programmes in a camp setting. For everyone else the park is a day-use site: picnicking, walking, outdoor events and children's activities, on ground the directorate says Gaziantep residents choose for recreation in spring, summer and autumn. Capacity is 2,000 visitors and 200 vehicles, with hours of 09:00 to 20:00.
By car, leave the ring road at the Yamaçtepe junction and follow the road to the park; it can also be reached by the road to the Alleben reservoir recreation area. The B10 and B29 bus lines serve it. The concession is held by Şahinbey Municipality.
