Alacadağ Nature Conservation Area is closed: the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks states at the head of its page that entry and exit are prohibited by virtue of the protection status, and that the area may be entered only with special permission for educational purposes. Scientific research is the only visit it records. The whole of it is forest and there are no facilities inside the boundary.
The area lies in Finike district of Antalya province and was declared on 1 October 1990. Its size is given as 423.03 hectares in the area record and, twice, as 427 in the text.
The reason for the protection is the trees. The directorate says the area holds more than twenty tree species, among them rare forest trees, with an undisturbed natural structure and monumental trees standing in it. Old natural cedars and maples are named as its principal resource, and red pine, ash, eastern strawberry tree, hop hornbeam, prickly juniper, gall oak and maples grow there.
Brown hare, wild boar, fox, Anatolian squirrel, lynx, chukar partridge, wolf, long-legged buzzard and lesser spotted eagle are the animals recorded. The area is about 10 to 15 kilometres from Finike, and access is from the town.
