The Yerköprü waterfall lies within the Evren quarter of the Mut district of Mersin, north of the town of Kuskan in the Gülnar district and south of the Gezende reservoir. It was registered as a natural monument in 2001 and declared a nature park in 2021; the waterfall and the ground around it cover 1,115 decares. It is thirty-five kilometres from Mut and 182 from Mersin.
The waterfall is on the Ermenek stream, one of the branches of the Göksu. A narrow spring bursting from the fault lines in limestone of the Cretaceous, about 110 million years old, cut this deep canyon and made the fall. It is fed by an underground water tunnel inside a cave some 200 to 250 metres long and ten metres wide, notable for its stalactites and rich plant growth; water coming from the Gezende dam joins the spring water inside that cave.
Getting there
Access is by way of the Mut district. In early March 2013 rocks brought down onto the road by a landslide blocked the way to the waterfall; a bridge was built in 2015 to bring those coming from the direction of Mut to the fall.
