The Ulu Cami of Muş was built by Şeyh Muhammed-i Mağribi, who lies buried in its courtyard. It stands west of the Alaeddin Bey and Hacı Şeref mosques.
The mosque is of rubble stone, rectangular in plan, and carries no inscription; from its architecture it is dated to the second half of the fourteenth century.
The main space is covered by a dome at the centre and barrel vaults at the sides, and on the north is a porch of three domes built in cut stone. The plain portal, also of cut stone, sits within a pointed-arched niche. Every wall but the west one has two windows.
The minaret was damaged in an earthquake and repaired, faithfully to its original form, in 1968 and 1972.
