The juniper at Çandır village, in the Sütçüler district of Isparta, is the oldest tree on the province's monument list: the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks puts it at around 1,000 years. It is also the largest, 27 metres tall with a trunk 2.50 metres across and a girth of 7.85 metres, and it was declared a natural monument on 29 September 1994.
Facilities are minimal and the figures say so plainly: a protected plot of a quarter of a hectare, a stated capacity of five visitors and two vehicles, and opening hours of 09:30 to 17:00. Come for the tree itself, and expect nowhere to park a coach.
