Şaban Kalesi Nature Park is in the Güce district of Giresun, declared a nature park on 2 April 2019 and open twenty-four hours. Most of it lies within Güce, though parts fall within the Tirebolu district.
The ground it covers was one of the areas where Ottoman and Russian forces fought heavily during the First World War. Wide defensive lines began to be built here from 1915. After two years of successful Ottoman defence the Russian forces began to withdraw and the Ottomans started retaking the ground they had lost. Nineteen graves of the fallen and trenches from the war survive within the park today.
In the year the park was declared it was also decided to carry out landscaping work in it. The plan is to lay out the graves and build a memorial to the fallen, and, to show the natural character of the area, to make walking paths and viewing terraces.
