The Akşemseddin Mosque at Osmancık is a small mosque on the north-western skirts of the castle, which stands on a steep crag. Its date is given as 1410, and it is known to have formed part of the old medrese of Osmancık.
Of the Ottoman period, the mosque has an inverted T plan and a wide courtyard.
A work of the early Ottoman period with an architecture of its own, it makes a pleasant place of worship.
