On 11 October 1995 the Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks declared eight individual trees in the Örümcek Forest natural monuments on the same day: four firs and four Oriental spruces, numbered rather than named. Spruce III stands 52.5 metres tall on a slim trunk, 1.21 metres across and 3.81 metres in girth, and the directorate gives its age as 400 years.
The register entry for each of the eight is measurements only. The province is Gümüşhane; the fields for district, access road, opening hours and visitor capacity are all empty. These trees stand in working forest, not in a laid-out visitor area, and nothing in the listing tells you where the trail or the parking is — ask the provincial branch of the directorate before setting out to find a particular numbered tree.
