Obruk Şelalesi Tabiat Parkı covers 257.10 hectares in the Saimbeyli district of Adana and was declared on 11 May 2018. It takes its name from the waterfall, which the Directorate also names as its most important natural asset.
Alongside the water and the views, one species gives the park particular weight: the Saimbeyli blue, Polyommatus theresiae, also called the Teresa blue, an endemic butterfly for which this is one of the living areas. Butterfly watching is accordingly one of the activities the park is set up for, along with walking, tent and caravan camping, photography and day visits.
The woodland is Calabrian pine, black pine, Greek juniper, kermes oak, aspen, terebinth and white willow, with wormwood, sage, everlasting, yarrow, asphodel, thistle, St John's wort, thyme, mistletoe, chamomile, Taurus mountain tea, bramble and hawthorn among the herbs and shrubs. The animals recorded include wolf, Anatolian souslik, brown hare, jackal, fox, hedgehog, Indian crested porcupine, wild boar and otter; chukar, turtle dove, common buzzard, kestrel, little owl and chaffinch; and the Mediterranean chameleon, the starred agama, the worm snake, the spur-thighed tortoise and the near-eastern fire salamander.
Facilities are day-use areas, a prayer room and shelters, with a stated capacity of 1,000 visitors, 100 vehicles and 10 tents. The park is 160 kilometres from the centre of Adana and five from Saimbeyli.
