Akmonia was built on a high hill south of Ahat village in the Banaz district of Uşak, and like most of the historic sites in this province it lies on the Lydian Royal Road. Extensive mosaic floors have been found in the city, along with Roman and Byzantine pottery, the gymnasium area, building foundations, architectural pieces in stone and marble, the podia of two temples, and the hollow of the theatre.
Finds from the site are displayed at the Uşak Archaeological Museum, which is the place to see the movable material. Village minibuses from the Banaz bus station serve Ahat.
