Balamba Nature Park lies on the Bartın–Karabük road in the province of Bartın and was opened on 11 July 2011. It is 2.2 kilometres from the centre of town and easy to reach from the road.
The plant cover is rich. Hornbeam, oak, cedar and stone pine grow here, along with a good many other woody plants, wild fruits and fungi; chestnut, walnut, ash, fig, black mulberry and sessile oak are among the trees, and rhododendron, butcher's broom and bracken fill the ground beneath them. Wild orchids and irises come up in the open places in spring.
The park has day-visit picnic grounds, an open-air restaurant, a buffet, children's play areas, a walking trail, sports grounds, an amphitheatre, rain shelters and other facilities. Its stated yearly capacity is around four thousand visitors.
For people living in Bartın the park serves mainly as somewhere close at hand to rest and spend a day out in natural surroundings.
