The church is in use today as an olive oil factory. It stands in the middle of Ayvalık, hemmed in by houses and narrow streets.
Its name is double. Built of stone with Ionic columns in the nineteenth century, it is the Fenoremeni church; Orthodox Christians call it Ayazma, after the holy water inside it.
